Complementary information:

  • The VSL Mini-500 is designed for use in the Experimental Flight Model Mode of X-Plane 11.30+. In order to use it, please go to the General Settings window in X-Plane 11.30 and mark the Experimental Flight Model checkbox. You will need to reload the Mini-500 right after.
  • Make sure that X-Plane is setup for MAXIMUM REALISM: This should be set up in the Joystick setup window (all sliders should be dragged to the left for "0" values.
  • The VSKYLABS Mini-500 is equipped with skids-wheels. These are dummies and are visible only when the aircraft is cold and dark. Once the electrical bus is powered, these will not be visible any longer.
  • Weight and Balance: The empty weight of the Mini-500 is 485 lbs. However, the VSKYLABS Mini-500 is setup to include the pilot's weight (approximately 165-170 lbs). Keep this in mind as you don't need to add the pilot's weight in the weight and balance window. You can add or reduce preset payload to manage pilot's weight.
  • Throttle Governor: Just like the real Mini-500, the VSKYLABS Mini-500 is fully flyable without a throttle governor. If you wish to fly it with manual throttle management (as in real-life), simply set the switch to OFF (down). If you are not using a dedicated helicopter controls, or not having a dual-slider Joystick, you may need to engage the Governor so it will save you a slider-channel, leaving you with one for the Collective.
