VSKYLABS SR-71A Abbreviated Checklist

VSKYLABS SR-71A Abbreviated Checklist.

The SR-71 (retired) was a United States Air Force high performance, high altitude Mach 3+ strategic reconnaissance aircraft. The SR-71 was in service with the US Air Force from 1966 to 1990 and the last flight of an SR-71 was by NASA in 1999. It was, and still is, the fastest jet aircraft ever deployed.

This pdf file/document is a 'composed' SR-71A checklist which was extracted and edited by VSKYLABS, directly from the official (declassified) Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird Flight Manual, to become an authentic, Abbreviated SR-71A Checklist.

Important:

The VSKYLABS Abbreviated Checklist Notebook reflects the actual SR-71-A aircraft. It can be used as a general, authentic reference for the SR-71, without any relation to the VSKYLABS 'Test-Pilot': SR-71-TB Add-on for X-Plane 12.

Obviously - the VSKYLABS SR-71A Abbreviated Checklist may serve as a useful reference for flying the VSKYLABS 'Test-Pilot': SR-71-TB Add-on in X-Plane 12, with the following notes:

  • When using the SR-71-A Abbreviated Checklist as a reference for the VSKYLABS SR-71-TB, keep in mind that various systems are still a WIP, or being partially implemented. Also keep in mind that some systems/action items may not be relevant for desktop simulation.
  • In such a case, simply proceed to the next item; In most cases an automated version of the given system is being managed by the model in the background, until being fully implemented in the project. For example, all that is related to the IGV (inlet guide vanes) - the system is a WIP and currently, it should be assumed by the pilot to be working automatically and as required, in the background, in all phases of flight.

Document Highlights:

  • High Quality Abbreviated SR-71-A Checklist (Normal Procedures).
  • Table-of-Content section has fast-links to each section.
  • Fast 'Back to Table-of-Content' navigation from each page (by clicking on the title on each page).

It took a lot of time and effort to edit the VSKYLABS Abbreviated Checklist. If/when using this checklist 'out in the open', please credit 'VSKYLABS Aerospace Simulations' when possible :)
