The VSKYLABS 'Test-Pilot': 510X-VLJ Project.
JetManHuss - VSKYLABS (c) 2025 All Rights Reserved
High definition VLJ (Very Light Jet) Flight simulation for X-Plane 12 Flight Simulator.
****** THIS IS AN EARLY ACCESS VERSION ******
Version 1.0 of the VSL-510X is being released as an Early Access edition. This indicates that the aircraft is now fully flyable, all core systems, flight dynamics and core-operational features are in place and ready for full missions.
However, some elements remain “in-progress” meaning that certain systems, refinements and deep detailing are still being polished.
Typically, the Early Access phase spans approximately 4-8 weeks of accelerated development and updates. During this period, expect regular updates and refinement builds as we move toward the full final release.
Thank you for your support and feedback during this early stage!
MINIMUM HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS FOR X-PLANE 12
Disk Space: 25GB
CPU: Intel Core i3, i5, i7, or i9 CPU with 4 or more cores, or AMD Ryzen 3, 5, 7 or 9.
(Those with other CPUs should try the demo before purchasing.)
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Video Card: a Vulkan 1.3-capable video card from NVIDIA or AMD with at least 2 GB VRAM
Note: Intel GPUs are not supported by X-Plane 12.
The VSKYLABS VSL-510X is a highly-defined Very Light Jet (VLJ) simulation, developed and engineered using the Cessna Citation Mustang (Model 510) as a core reference for a typical, modern VLJ aircraft. The main purpose of the VSL-510X add-on is to introduce the Very-Light-Jet aircraft category and to allow exploring its operational envelope in X-Plane Flight Simulator, stretching it to its out-of-the-box limits.
DEVELOPMENT DISCLAIMER: The VSKYLABS VSL-510X is an independent VSKYLABS development project which is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Cessna, Citation, or Textron Aviation Inc. It was not developed as an official rendition of the Citation Mustang, nor claimed to be so.
The VLJ Category
The term Very Light Jet (VLJ) describes a class of small business jets that typically seat four to eight people and are often certified for single-pilot operations.
These aircraft emerged with the goal of reducing operating costs and enabling jet access to smaller airports and shorter runways, essentially allowing more flexible, point-to-point business or personal travel.
The REAL-WORLD Cessna Citation Mustang
*The Mustang aircraft served as a core reference for a typical, modern VLJ aircraft, in the development of the VSKYLABS VSL 510X. Please note that the VSKYLBS VSL 510X-VLJ is not a direct replica of the Citation Mustang. Various differences in appearance and operations may be noticeable.
The Cessna Citation Mustang (Model 510) is a prime example of the VLJ concept: manufactured by Cessna Aircraft Company in the United States, it first flew on April 23, 2005, and entered service in 2006.
In its standard configuration it carries four passengers in the rear cabin, a toilet, and two-pilot/one-pilot certified cockpit seating.
Designed to bring jet performance into a more accessible segment, the Mustang offered the advantages of twin aft-mounted turbofans, a stand-up cabin, and the ability to be operated by a single pilot, features that made it attractive both for owner-pilots and small charter operations.
Although production ended in 2017 after 479 units were built, the Mustang remains a useful reference platform for high-fidelity simulation and systems-logic modelling.
