RC TEST-PILOT FLIGHT SIMULATOR
VSKYLABS RC-Elements (RCE) is a complete, advanced RC flight simulation environment (add-on), built from the ground up for RC pilots, inside the world's most advanced flight simulator engine: X-Plane 12 by Laminar Research.
It is an advanced engineering framework that effectively turns X-Plane 12 into a standalone RC flight simulator environment. Developed explicitly for real-world RC (remote control) pilots, it delivers authentic and highly engineered RC model airplanes and helicopters physics, offering a robust, study-level RC flight sim option in 2026 for professional pilot training and radio-control hobbyists.
It features 25 highly engineered Giant-Scale RC model aircraft spanning advanced jets, helicopters, VTOLs, experimental platforms and classic aviation legends. Simulation engineering covers advanced RC propulsion that ranges from glow and radial engines, electrical motors, counter-rotating prop mechanism, jet-turbine, turbo-shaft physics and rocket motors.
X-Plane 12 features a dynamic weather engine with real-world weather downloads, realistic winds, turbulence, thermals, gusts, precipitation, clouds, visibility, and seasonal effects - allowing you to train and fly in conditions that closely match the real atmosphere.

RC-Elements: A Fast Guide for the RC Pilot (Part 2)
| Feature | VSKYLABS RC-Elements Vol.1 | Mainstream RC Simulators (RealFlight, Aerofly RC, etc.) |
| Physics Engine | Full-scale, real-time aerospace aerodynamics engine powered by X-Plane 12, incorporating Blade Element Theory, real-time propeller and rotor effects, delta-wing aerodynamics, atmospheric interaction, and aircraft-specific aerodynamic phenomena across the entire flight envelope. | Dedicated RC flight dynamics engines, typically based on RC-specific multi-body or rigid-body simulation architectures optimized for general RC aircraft operations, with aerodynamic behavior tailored to predefined aircraft characteristics and performance envelopes. |
| Primary Focus | Giant-Scale operations (not limited to, but mainly for wingspan > 2m), detailed aircraft engineering, atmospheric awareness, flight testing, and advanced RC pilot training. | Broad RC hobby flying, orientation training, proficiency development, and aerobatic practice. |
| Atmospheric Depth | Real-world global weather featuring physics-based gust layers, thermals, micro-scale turbulence, volumetric clouds, dynamic visibility effects, storms, and evolving atmospheric conditions. | Localized wind effects, simplified turbulence modeling, and basic thermal generation. |
| FPV & VR | Comprehensive FPV support across all aircraft using dedicated HUD overlays. Version 1.1.0 introduces a fully integrated FPV environment featuring a dedicated 3D FPV cockpit, VR Onboard FPV operations with head-tracking support, global scenery exploration, real-world weather interaction, and advanced FPV proficiency training for taxi, takeoff, landing, navigation, and emergency procedures. | Basic FPV camera views may be available in some products. VR support varies by platform and is generally focused on visual immersion rather than dedicated FPV training environments. |
| Controller Support | RC transmitters, USB gaming controllers, and fully configurable multi-device control environments. | RC transmitters and standard USB gaming controllers. |
| External Integration | Access to the X-Plane ecosystem: UDP interfaces, external software integration, plugins, hardware connectivity, and research & development workflows. | Limited external integration capabilities. |
| Aircraft Variety | 25 highly engineered Giant-Scale aircraft covering turbine jets, EDFs, helicopters, canards, thrust-vectoring aircraft, gyroplanes, rocket gliders, multi-engine aircraft, dedicated FPV platforms, and more. | Hundreds of licensed hobby aircraft plus extensive user-created model libraries. |
| Standalone RC Simulation | Requires X-Plane 12. Once installed, RC-Elements transforms X-Plane 12 into a dedicated RC flight simulation environment. Launch X-Plane 12, load an RC-Elements aircraft, connect an RC transmitter or controller, and fly as a standalone RC simulator. | Native standalone RC simulation applications requiring no additional simulator platform. |
| Ecosystem Cost | $129 (RCE Vol.1) + X-Plane 12 ($59.99). | Standalone software packages, typically $39-$220. |
Virtual Reality (VR): Supported by both RC-Elements and mainstream RC flight simulators such as RealFlight and Aerofly RC. However, the experience is different. Traditional RC simulators typically place the pilot at a dedicated RC flying site, focusing on efficient and highly optimized training environments. RC-Elements extends VR operations into a full aviation simulation world, allowing pilots to fly from virtually any location on Earth while experiencing dynamic weather, volumetric atmospheric effects, and both ground-pilot and onboard FPV perspectives. In addition, RC-Elements benefits from X-Plane 12's native VR ecosystem, including virtual cockpit interaction and support for advanced controller configurations.
RC-Elements Vol. 1 introduces a dedicated FPV aircraft: a highly detailed 1:5 Scale F-16, engineered specifically for advanced FPV operations. The aircraft features a fully modeled FPV cockpit environment with support for head tracking and immersive VR operation, allowing pilots to practice taxi, takeoff, navigation, energy management, and landing techniques from a true FPV perspective. This implementation brings modern fixed-wing FPV training into a full-world simulation environment powered by X-Plane 12's global scenery, weather, and atmospheric systems.
Important: Acquiring X-Plane 12 provides far more than access to VSKYLABS RC-Elements alone; it is an investment in a complete and continuously evolving aviation simulation platform. Even without RC-Elements installed, users gain access to a living aviation world that includes worldwide scenery, dynamic weather, tens of thousands of airports, and an extensive ecosystem of aircraft and third-party add-ons. In addition, X-Plane 12 includes aircraft design and engineering tools that allow users to create and modify aircraft, airfoils and even scenery and airports. For aerospace engineers, developers, researchers, and aviation enthusiasts, X-Plane 12 is not merely a simulator...it is a comprehensive aerospace engineering sandbox.
