The VSKYLABS Guimbal Cabri G2 Project

The VSKYLABS Guimbal Cabri G2 Project

After the needed approvals were completed, I am very excited to announce that a VSKYLABS Helicopter project release is now scheduled for 2018! It is the Guimbal Cabri G2 Helicopter produced by Hélicoptères Guimbal.

The project was acknowledged by Hélicoptères Guimbal, however it is an independent VSKYLABS project which is not affiliated with or endorsed by Hélicoptères Guimbal.

The default Cabri G2 variant will be carrying the BC Helicopters Cabri G2 (C-GELP) paint scheme and other detailing attributes. BC Helicopters are also having a very exciting YouTube channel ('Pilot Yellow') in which they share their daily routine, flying practices and adventures. It is a highly recommended resource for practical information regarding Helicopter flying and specifically the Cabri G2. Please note that the VSKYLABS project is not affiliated with BC Helicopters.

Project highlight:
  • Realistic simulation of the Guimbal Cabri G2 Helicopter.
  • Designed as a "Native-X-Plane" aircraft, pushing X-Plane's out-of-the-box features and physical engine to it's limits, without any 3rd party dependencies.
  • Focus on handling and performance - The VSKYLABS Cabri G2 Helicopter is highly engineered to allow a robust helicopter simulation for pilot training, resulting in an accurate simulation within reasonable margins comparing to the real Guimbal G2. Flying characteristics are thoroughly being tested and evaluated by real-world pilots.
  • Designed and optimized for full VR operations.
  • FMOD sounds package included.
Additional information:
  • The VSKYLABS Guimbal Cabri G2 Project is perfect for basic and 1st helicopter conversion for fixed wings aircraft pilots.
  • Instrument panel is featuring a day/night VFR instrumentation:
    • Turn coordinator
    • Directional gyro
    • Altimeter
    • Artificial horizon
    • Vertical speed indicator
    • Airspeed indicator
    • CDI (course deviation indicator) - optional
    • GNS430
    • Transponder
  • Electronic Pilot Monitor - EPM:
    • Basic yet authentic and effective EPM monitor display.
Project status:
  • Advanced stages of development in all aspects.
Release window:

Stay tuned as more details, screenshots, videos and other information will be added to this page soon.

  2. Very interested to see you having a crack at a full on helicopter. XP11 is certainly the right sim to develop it for, looking forward to more news as it comes.
